TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The police have nabbed two women who allegedly recorded, spread, and featured in the video displaying a threat to behead President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo. One of the women is identified as IY. The police had earlier named Hermawan Susanto suspect for delivering the death threat.
IY was arrested in her house in Grand Residence City, Bekasi, West Java. Tempo observed the two women arrived in the building of Criminal Investigation Directorate of Jakarta Metro Police at around 6.05 p.m.
Both seemed to be depressed while landed in the police headquarter. One woman donned a pink-colored jacket, black veil, face mask, and jeans while carrying a red backpack, and the other wore a black jacket and a blue veil.
The two remained tight-lipped, bent their head, and covered their face when reporters questioned them regarding the threat against President Jokowi. Officers instantly brought them to an investigation room.
The police also confiscated pieces of evidence, such as black sunglasses, an iPhone 5s, a black mask, one blue veil, one yellow bag, a white shirt, and a ring.
Jakarta Metro Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Argo Yuwono said the seized goods were worn by IY as recorded in the video footage during a demonstration in front of the Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) that recently went viral on the internet.
“She admits that she is the woman in the video,” said Argo via short message today, May 15.
On the said video, IY was seen carrying a smartphone and directed it to her face and the surrounding area. At that time, she captured the suspect Hermawan Susanto and focused her camera to the 25-year-old man who was posing threat to behead President Jokowi.
Hermawan Susanto is currently under police investigation in Jakarta Metro Police while accompanied by his father. He is charged with articles concerning criminal act against the state security and the Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE) that carry a maximum punishment of a life or 20 years imprisonment.
